AHIMOTHə hī’ mŏth (אֲחִימֹֽות, my brother is death). A Levite descended from Kohath (1 Chron 6:25). Elkanah, the father of Samuel, was descended from him. In 1 Chronicles 6:26 the name Nahath holds a similar place in the list.
