Grave Clothes
GRAVE CLOTHES (Gr. keiria, winding sheet). Before burial the body was washed, perhaps anointed with spices, wrapped in a linen winding sheet, with hands and feet bound with grave-bands, and the face covered with a napkin (John.11.44; John.19.40).
