CANE, Heb. קָנֶה, H7866, a loanword in Gr. κάννα/η, G2444, Lat. “canna,” Eng. cognates “cane,” “canon.” Translated as CANE in KJV only in Isaiah 43:24; Jeremiah 6:20; also RSV tr. “stalk,” “reed,” “cane.” Probably a length of the swamp reed Arundo donax; cf.
