d.177. Christian martyr. Eusebius records a letter to Asian and Phrygian churches from Christians at Lyons and Vienne, describing their martyrs in a local anti-Christian outburst in 177. Emphasis is laid on the tortures, courage, and Christlikeness of a servant girl, Blandina, who inspired a fellow- sufferer and refused allegiance to pagan gods.
