BEON (bē'ŏn, Num.32.3, known also as Baal Meon). A town built by the tribe of Reuben, who chose to remain on the east side of the Jordan. Under its new name it was allotted to the Reubenites after the conquest of Canaan (Josh.13.17). See Baal Meon.
