AVITH (ā'vĭth). Name of a town or city that was the capital of Hadad, fourth king of Edom, before there were any kings in Israel (Gen.36.35).



AVITH ā’ vĭth (עֲוִֽית, ruin). The royal city of Hadad, king of Edom, who apparently became king after his father’s defeat by the Midianites (Gen 36:35; 1 Chron 1:46). Site unknown.
