Andrew Robert Fausset

1821-1910. Anglican scholar. Born in County Fermanagh, Ireland, he graduated from Trinity College, Dublin, in 1843. He went to England, was curate of Bishop Middleham, County Durham (1848-59), and rector of St. Cuthbert's, York, from 1859 until his death. Evangelical and premillennialist, he was a prolific writer and editor. His works include Scripture and the Prayer Book in Harmony (1854); the editorship of the first ET of Bengel's Gnomon of the New Testament (1886); The Englishman's Critical and Expository Bible Cyclopedia (1878); and (with Robert Jamieson and David Brown) Critical, Experimental and Practical Commentary on the Old and New Testaments (1871).
