He has most recently served as senior professor of New Testament interpretation at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and previously taught at Bethel Seminary.

He has served as a professor of Christian theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and has taught at other institutions as well. He has published numerous articles, book chapters, and reviews, and has written several books on topics related to theology and the Christian faith. His educational background includes a Ph.D. from Fuller Theological Seminary, an M.Div. from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, and a B.A. from Whitworth College.
