William Henry Griffith Thomas

1861-1924. Anglican scholar and teacher. Born in Shropshire, he was educated at King's College, London; read theology at Christ Church, Oxford; and was ordained in 1886. After curacies and a ministry at St. Paul's Portman Square, London (1896-1905), he became principal of Wycliffe Hall, Oxford (1905-10). Removing to Canada, he was professor of OT at Wycliffe College, Toronto, from 1910, and active in Canadian Anglicanism. A dispensationalist, he was a founder of Dallas Theological Seminary and would have lectured there but for his death. He contributed weekly to The Sunday School Times and to the Toronto Globe and was the author of numerous books. A supporter of the Keswick Movement, he assisted the Victorious Life Testimony in America.
