1538. A Latin manuscript entitled A Book containing Divers Articles de Unitate Dei et Trinitate Personarum, de Peccato Originali, etc. discovered among papers belonging to Archbishop Cranmer.* Possibly connected with discussions between conservative Lutheran divines invited to England in 1538 by Henry VIII* and an English committee of three bishops and four doctors, it may have been the basis of negotiation, or perhaps a record of doctrines actually agreed. The articles are closely akin to the Augsburg Confession.*
