Straight Street

STRAIGHT STREET. A name given to any route extending in a straight course across a city. Most streets were narrow and crooked. The avenue that ran through Damascus, one hundred feet (thirty-one m.) wide with a walk along each side, was called Straight (Acts.9.11).
