Shamhuth

SHAMHUTH (shăm'hŭth, Heb. shamhûth, desolation). An Izrahite. He was the fifth divisional commander, for the fifth month of the year, in David’s organization of his army (1Chr.27.8); probably the same person as Shammah the Harodite (2Sam.23.25) and Shammoth the Harorite (1Chr.11.27).



SHAMHUTH shăm’ huth (שַׁמְה֣וּת). One of David’s officers, in charge of the militia for the fifth month (1 Chron 27:8); called Shammah in 2 Samuel 23:25.
