Reginald of Piperno
c.1230-c.1290. Theologian. Born in Italy, he joined the Dominican Order at Naples and around 1260 became the confessor of Thomas Aquinas* as well as his constant companion. In 1272 he took a teaching post in Naples, succeeding Thomas in the chair of philosophy in 1274. He zealously collected Thomas's works, including the four Opuscula which he recorded from his master's lectures.
