Kesulloth

KESULLOTH (kē-sŭl'ŏth). A town in Issachar (Josh.19.18). In NT times this was Exaloth or Xaloth, modern Iksal, SE of Nazareth.



CHESULLOTH kĭ sul’ ŏth (כְּסוּלֹ֖ת). A town listed in the city-list of the tribe of Zebulun (Josh 19:18). It is prob. to be identified with the Chisloth-tabor of Joshua 19:12. It has been identified with Iksāl, about two m. SE of Nazareth. Simons (GTT § 330) suggests that the ancient locality may have been slightly more to the N on Khirbet-eṭ-Ṭîreh.

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915)

A town on the border of Zebulun (Jos 19:18), the same as Chisloth-tabor (Jos 19:12). It is represented by the modern village Iksal on the northern edge of Esdraelon, circa 3 miles West of Mt. Tabor.
