Kedron

KEDRON ke’ drən (Κεδών). A town between Jamnia and Modin (1 Macc 15:39-41, 16:9), fortified by Cendebeus at the orders of Antiochus VII of Syria as preparation for invasion of Judea during the time of Simon Maccabeus. It provided strategic control of several roads into Judea. It has been identified with Biblical Gederah (Josh 15:36) and modern Qatra.
