1869-1956. Bible college principal. Born in Ottawa, he read classics at Toronto University and divinity at Knox College. For two years he was secretary of the University YMCA and a leader in the .* He was minister of the Presbyterian church in Aylmer, Quebec (1896-1900), then in 1902 began lecturing in Toronto Bible College, where he was principal from 1906 to 1946. He wrote much on the ; other books were Thinking Through the Bible (4 vols.) and The Bible's Philosophy of History.
