c.1380-1444. “Prince of the Thomists.” A Dominican who taught in French universities, he was foremost in the revival of Thomism. His Four Books of Defences of the Theology of St. Aquinas (1409-33) used the sources systematically against critics such as Scotists and Ockhamists.
