James Woodsworth
d.1917. Canadian Methodist clergyman. He was born in Toronto and was ordained to the Methodist ministry in 1864. The same year he was sent to the Portage la Prairie circuit in the West, where he served for the rest of his life. For many years he was superintendent of Northwest missions for the Methodist Church. Memories of his days in W Canada are recorded in the book, Thirty Years in the Canadian North-West (1917).
