Jaaziel

JAAZIEL (jā-ā'zĭ-ĕl, Heb. ya‘ăzî’ēl, God strengthens). A temple musician (1Chr.15.18), called Aziel in 1Chr.15.20.



JAAZIEL jā ā’ zĭ əl (יַֽעֲזִיאֵ֡ל, strengthens). A Levite harp player who accompanied the Ark when it was removed from the house of Obededom (1 Chron 15:18). His name is shortened to AZIEL, ā’ zĭ el, in 1 Chronicles 15:20.

In 1Ch 15:18, a Levite, one of the musicians appointed to play upon instruments at the bringing up of the ark by David. Kittel and Curtis, following the Septuagint (Ozeiel), read "Uzziel," the name they adopt for Aziel in 15:20, and for Jeiel in 16:5.
