ITHRAN (ĭth'răn, Heb. yithrān, excellent)

A Horite, son of Dishon (Gen.36.26; 1Chr.1.41).A son of Zophah of the tribe of Asher (1Chr.7.37).


ITHRAN īth’ răn (יִתְרָ֥ן). 1. Son of Dishon; a descendant of Seir the Horite (Gen 36:26; 1 Chron 1:41).

2. An Asherite; son of Zophah (1 Chron 7:37); called Jether in v. 38.

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915)

(yithran, "excellent"):

(1) A descendant of Seir the Horite, son of Dishon (Ge 36:26; 1Ch 1:41).

(2) One of the sons of Zophah of the tribe of Asher (1Ch 7:37).
