Iphtah

IPHTAH (ĭf'ta, Heb. yiphtāh). An unidentified town in the Shephelah of Judah. It is named with eight other towns (Josh.15.43, kjv Jiphtah).


IPHTAH ĭf’ tə (יִפְתָּ֥ח). KJV JIPHTAH, jĭp’ te. A town in the Shephelah of Judah, named with Libnah, Ether, and Ashan (Josh 15:43). It may be the modern Tarqumiya, E of Lachish.
