TWELFTH CENTURY. Called the father of canon law, he composed the Concordia discordantium canonum, better known as the Decretum. Very little is known about him except that he was born in Chiusi, Italy, probably became a Camaldolese monk, and lived in the monastery of SS. Felix and Nabor.
