George Milligan
1860-1934. Scottish NT scholar. Son of William Milligan* and born while his father was minister at Kilconquhar, he was educated at Scottish and German universities before ministering at Edinburgh and Caputh (1883-1910). He then held the chair of divinity and biblical criticism at Glasgow until retirement in 1932. He interested himself in the promotion of Christian education and was moderator of the general assembly in 1923. Among his many writings on the NT, which were known outside his own country, was The Vocabulary of the Greek Testament (1914- 29).
