Garmite
GARMITE (gar'mīt, Heb. garmî). A name applied to Keilah (1Chr.4.19). Its meaning is obscure.
GARMITE (גַּרְמִ֑י, meaning obscure, but perhaps it comes from גֶּ֫רֶם, H1752, which means “bone” 1 Chron 4:19). This gentilic name is attached to the name of Keilah found in a genealogy of the descendants of Caleb. It is difficult to ascertain the reason for this description. Perhaps it had to do with his appearance as bony or with his strength.
