Gadi

GADI (gā'dī). Father of Menahem, who usurped the throne of Israel from Shallum (2Kgs.15.14-2Kgs.15.20).



GADI Găd’ ī (גָּדִ֧י, my fortune). This man was the father of King Menahem of Israel who usurped the throne from Shallum (2 Kings 15:14-20). Gadi may be short for Gaddiel (גַּדִּיאֵ֖ל, “God is my fortune”).
