Fleece
FLEECE. The shorn wool of a sheep. The first of the shearing was to be given to the priesthood, as a part of their means of support (Deut.18.4). Gideon’s experience (Judg.6.37-Judg.6.40) has given rise to the custom of “putting out a fleece” in seeking God’s guidance.
