Eznite

EZNITE (ĕz'nīt, Heb. ‘etsnî). Designation of Adino, one of David’s chief captains (2Sam.23.8 kjv, mlb, nasb). Some versions (neb, niv, rsv) are based on a conjecture that the statement about Adino the Eznite is a corruption of the Hebrew for “he lifted up his spear.” A parallel passage (1Chr.11.11) speaks of Jashobeam, a Hachmonite, who “raised his spear.”
