The Exodus and the Conquest

The Exodus and the Conquest. The Gershonites were assigned lands within the holdings of Issachar, Asher, and Naphtali in Pal. proper, and in the holdings of the half tribe of Manasseh in Trans-Jordan (Josh 21:6, 27-33; 1 Chron 6:62, 71-76; 1 Chron 6:1-43 uses “Gershom” for “Gershon”). This assignment of land placed the Gershonites in the northernmost extremes on both sides of the Jordan.
