Ebron
EBRON (עֶבְרֹ֥ן), KJV Hebron. A town located in the territory allotted to Asher (Josh 19:28) consisting of the NW corner of Pal. bordering the Mediterranean. “Ebron” is quite possibly a misspelling of the MT for Abdon (עַבְדֹּ֖ון) due to a scribal confusion of ד and ר. See [[Abdon]].
International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915)
(`ebhron; the [[King James Version]] wrongly, Hebron):
A town in the territory of Asher (Jos 19:28). Probably we should read here Abdon, as in Jos 21:30; 1Ch 6:74, the substitution of the Hebrew letter resh ("r") for the Hebrew letter daleth ("d") being a common copyist’s error.
