Cabbon
CABBON (kăb'e*chn). A town in Judah, taken by Israel from the Amorites (Josh.15.40). It may be the same as Macbena (1Chr.2.49).
CABBON kăb’ ən (כַבֹּ֥ון; LXX A Χαρρα; B Χαβρα; perhaps wrap around?). A city in the Shephelah, near Lachish (Josh 15:40). The association with Machbenah (BDB p. 460, cf. 1 Chron 2:49) seems based on the assumption that the two names are from the same Heb. root.
International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915)
