Boundary Stones

BOUNDARY STONES. Our God is a God of order and not of confusion. He not only set careful bounds to the land of his people (Josh.13.1-Josh.13.33-Josh.21.1-Josh.21.45), but also provided a curse for those who removed their neighbors’ landmarks (Deut.27.17; cf. Deut.19.14). Figuratively, the expression implies a decent regard for ancient institutions (Prov.22.28; Prov.23.10).
