Bichri
BICHRI bĭk’ rī (Heb. בִּכְרִ֖י), a gentilic from the Heb. בֶּ֨כֶר, the father of the Benjamite, Sheba, who rebelled against David (2 Sam 20:1-22). The father of a clan, RSV Bichrites, KJV Berites (2 Sam 20:14). The progenitor of the clan of which Sheba was a descendant was Becher (Gen 46:21; 1 Chron 7:6-9). The name prob. meant “firstborn.”
