Beeliada

BEELIADA (bē'ĕ-lī'a-da, Heb. be‘elyādhā‘, the Lord knows). A son of King David (1Chr.14.7); called Eliada in 2Sam.5.16 and 1Chr.3.8.


BEELIADA be’ ə lī’ ə də (בְעֶלְיָדָ֖ע, knows). A son of David, born at Jerusalem (1 Chron 14:7). The name was changed to Eliada (“God knows”) when the name Baal became distasteful because of its associations with idolatry (2 Sam 5:16; 1 Chron 3:8).
