B. A symbol used to designate the Biblical MS Vaticanus, which is regarded as one of the best MSS of the Bible known; it is found in the Vatican library in Rome. It is dated in the early part of the 4th cent. Thirty-nine leaves are missing at the beginning, and ten in the Psalms. In the NT it breaks off in the middle of Hebrews 9, omits 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, and Revelation. The entire MS has been reproduced in photographic facsimile.
