Azaziah
AZAZIAH (ăz'a-zī'a, Heb. ‘ăzazyāhû, Jehovah is strong)
A harpist during the reign of David (1Chr.15.21).The father of the prince of Ephraim in the reign of David (1Chr.27.20).A Levite overseer of the temple in the reign of Hezekiah (2Chr.31.13).
AZAZIAH ăz’ ə zī’ ə (עֲזַזְיָ֑הוּ, Jehovah is strong). 1. A Levite who played on the lyre when the Ark was brought to Jerusalem (1 Chron 15:21).
2. The father of Hoshea, the Ephraimite commander under David (1 Chron 27:20).
3. A Levite overseer of the Temple under Hezekiah (2 Chron 31:13).

(`azazyahu, "Yahweh is strong," or "strengthens"):
(1) A Levite musician who participated in the services held on the return of the ark to Jerusalem (1Ch 15:21). His name is omitted from the list in 1Ch 15:18.
(2) Father of Hoshea, who was the leader of Ephraim at the time that David enumerated the people (1Ch 27:20).
(3) A Levite who had charge of the offerings brought to the temple in the days of Hezekiah (2Ch 31:13).
