ACZIB (ăk'zĭb, Heb. ’akhzîv, a lie)

A city of Judah (Josh.15.44) perhaps Tell el-Beida, SW of Adullam. Called Kezib (Gen.38.5) and Cozeba (1Chr.4.22). See Mic.1.14.A town in Asher (Judg.1.31; Josh.19.29) on the coast north of Acco. The Hebrews did not drive out the earlier inhabitants. In NT times Ecdippa, modern ez-Zib.
