Why do we learn?

Do you study the Bible to gain knowledge, or do you attend Bible studies and have quiet times so you can grow in your knowledge of God and then have that knowledge change how you live? If you complete that cycle of learn and grow ("head, heart, hands"), then you will come back around and learn even more about God. Without the cycle, all you have are facts and God's condemnation (Matt 7:26).

Canonical Model and Self-Authenticating

Summary: Below is an excerpt from Dr. Michael J. Kruger's class on the Self-Authenticating Model and the canon. In this class, he addresses the question, “How do we authenticate the canon in such a way that we don’t undermine its authority?” Dr. Kruger takes you through the Community Determined Model and the Historically Determined Model and the fundamental problems in each of those models. He then presents the Self-Authenticating Model and discusses why this model is the only one to authenticate the canon because it uses the canon to do so and not outside sources which would undermine its authority.

What effect did Constantine's conversion have on Christianity?

Summary: In the beginning, Christians actively met in homes, later in cemeteries and then in basic structures. When Constantine converted to Christianity, the imperial influences became pervasive in Christianity. The pomp and circumstance usually reserved for the imperial court became common. As a result, congregations themselves had less active roles in worship.
