Chapter Material
-
Read pages 26-31 in English Grammar to Ace Biblical Hebrew.
-
Read this chapter from beginning to end but don't study it carefully, especially 4.8, until you have listened to the lecture. In your first read through, you should try to achieve a good understanding of noun gender and number but don't try to thoroughly memorize the noun endings or the rules for noun pluralization.
-
Study every section of the chapter carefully, especially 4.8. You will be required to pluralize nouns on quizzes and exams. Be diligent in this study of noun pluralization. Also, study the section on Rules of Shewa in Advanced Section 4.12.
Exercises
Please complete all exercises on pp. 15-19 in the Basics of Biblical Hebrew: Workbook but give special attention to Advanced Exercise: Part 1 (excluding 15-17) and Advanced Exercise: Part 2. You may need to do some searching in the grammar to find all the pluralizations in Advanced Exercise: Part 2.
