Dr. John Coe

John Coe is a Professor of Spiritual Theology and Philosophy and the
Director of the Institute for Spiritual Formation at Talbot School of
Theology.

Dr. Coe teaches/writes in the areas of Spiritual Theology, the integration of spirituality and psychological growth, and virtue ethics. He has done work in the integration of theology, philosophy and psychology as well as intentionalizing spirituality in Christian education. He also taught theology and integration for years at Rosemead School of Psychology as well as at Talbot in the area of apologetics, theology and philosophy of Religion. Some of his publications include Intentional Spiritual Formation in the Classroom, Musings on the Dark Night of the Soul: Insights from St. John of the Cross on a Developmental Spiritualit, Beyond Relationality to Union: A Pneumadynamic Approach to Personality and Psychopathology and Redeeming Psychology: A Spiritual Formation Approach to Christianity and Psychology (IVP). He is also editor of the Institute's Journal for Spiritual Formation and Soul Care.
