Frank Thielman
Biography
Frank Thielman has been a faculty member at Beeson Divinity School since 1989, where he teaches courses in Greek exegesis and is a recognized scholar in New Testament studies, particularly in the Pauline epistles. His scholarly contributions include several widely respected books, such as Romans (Zondervan Exegetical Commentary, 2018) and Theology of the New Testament: A Canonical and Synthetic Approach (Zondervan, 2005).
Thielman’s research focuses on Paul and his letters, biblical theology, and the cultural context of first-century Christianity. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and a member of prestigious scholarly organizations such as the Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas (SNTS), Society of Biblical Literature, and the Evangelical Theological Society.
He holds a PhD from Duke University, additional studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and degrees from both Cambridge University and Wheaton College.
Thielman is actively involved in his local congregation, Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church. He and his wife, Abby, are parents to three adult children and have a grandson.
