Problem with MP3s

I'm not able to download the complete MP3s for any of the lectures with files sizes more than about 5 MB.  The file starts downloading then "completes" about halfway through and results in an MP3 that only has about half of the lecture.  I've tried multiple lectures (a few in the New Testament class by Bill Mounce and also a few others as a test).  Even using the embeded player that you have, it only loads about half of the lecture if it is more than 20 minutes long.

I've tried this in both Firefox and IE, and got the same results.  When the file is downloading it says that the total file size is unknown.  I am able to download the PDFs and PowerPoint zip files without issue, it is only the MP3s that I am not able to download completely.

Anything you can do to help?

Same experience, but eventual success

I had the same experience initially.  just as you described.  I found that one of the kids was downloading something else at the same time so waited till the internet connection was mine alone (a rare occurence....)  Once I had it all they downloaded fully.

I wondered if it was some kind of timeout thing happening which kept breaking the original download.

No problem here

I have downloaded all of the New Testament audio from Bill Mounce with no problem. I used the link for the faster download and it worked just fine. I had issues with the Power Point presentation. I'll tell you now, the lectures are worth any trouble to download. Bill Mounce is an excellent teacher. If I wasn't 3000 miles away I would attend the class.

Good luck

I ended up getting it to

I ended up getting it to work, but in a pretty round-about way.  Ended up being able to download them using my smartphone over the same internet connection that wouldn't work via my computer.  About 20% of the time it would still give me the problem (could not download because total file size is unkown) so I would just keep retrying and it would eventually download in full.  Pretty frustrating but hopefully worth it since I enjoyed the first half of the first part that it let me download on my computer.

Hopefully there's something that can be fixed to help others that may experience the same issue as me.  Perhaps putting a .zip file up in addition to the mp3s?
