Confusion verbs

This course is very important to me, but some verbs make confusion; sometimes I look at their ending and I'm confused on both case, gender and number. I know that the article never change, still the verb change their stems in one time or another. how to recognize those difficult or confused verbs. Akuo is a good verb, but for example Mathanwo, or mathetes, ..
